Age limit
Applicants born after November 1st, 1990 can apply.
Categories
The contest is held in following specializations:
- violin
- cello
Program
One piece of your choice, duration from 10 to 45 min.
A recorded video of your performance of your chosen work (accompanied by an orchestra or a pianist, in a studio or live recording) must be submitted as YouTube- or Vimeo-link, or another media available for download. The video must be submitted before July 15th, 2022. Multiple applications from the same person performing different works are allowed (application fees apply separately).
Deadline
The application deadline is October 15th, 2023. Applications are accepted online. The video recording of your performance may be sent separately from your application, but no later than by November 15th, 2023.
Application fee
The application fee is 120 EUR. Please transfer the application fee in full amount before November 15th, 2023, to the bank account below. The bank fees must be paid by the sender.
Your application will only be processed after receiving the application fee.
The application fee is non-refundable in case of incomplete or cancelled application, or no-show.
The competition process
October 12th, 2023 – application deadline in all categories for the II International Competition «Debut Concert Laeiszhalle». The competition results will be published on November 20th, 2023.
All applicants will be assigned an application number and listed on the website. After the deadline, the jury will select the winners in each of the categories: Violin, Cello, and Vocal, based on the video recordings submitted.
The Debut Concert
The Debut Concert will take place on January 7th, 2024. The competition winners in each category will perform in Laeiszhalle in Hamburg.
International music agencies and the press will be invited to the debut concert. The concert will be professionally recorded on video and audio. By submitting an application, the participant accepts the rules and conditions of the competition. The legal process is waived. The prize cannot be shared between participants. The jury has the right not to give the award prizes. The piece performed at the debut concert may or may not be the same as submitted. The decision of the jury is final and indisputable.
The participants agree that the debut concert will be recorded audio-visually. The organizer is entitled to use these recordings at any time commercially and non-commercially and/or to allow further use by third parties. This includes all forms of use (audio-visual media, print and online media, broadcasting, streaming, and downloading). Participants transfer all images- and sound-related rights to the organizer free of charge. Fee claims for recordings and re-use are not accepted.
